Yesh, get naked. Last time, I missed “Blog Action Day” and this time it is “CSS Naked Day“. April 9th 2008 the global event took place. Many of the weblogs and websites went ‘ugly’, well they are not women after all revealing their…You know!!!
These kinds of events keep us all knitted. Man, I would have loved to see what happens when there is absolutely no design for a whole 24 hours. Continue Reading »

Hamachi One Click Away from your Own VPN
We all love “One Click” solutions for everything we want. Thinking of VPN, you might have headaches (configuring and understanding how to manage). Out of the blue came Hamachi, maybe your next most favourite software. From ease of use to easy management. If you would call it “all rounder”, so be it. Continue Reading »
The MBB in Le Mauricien Newspaper! :P
Hehehe! Congrats to the folks at MBB! You people finally made it to the newspapers! It’s on Le Mauricien of Saturday 12th April, on Page 15.
We know what the MBB is about, but just a small refresh. The MBB, or the Mauritian Blog Brethren, is a blog which tracks other blogs, specifically Mauritian blogs. They often post reviews about Mauritian blogs, giving its readers an opportunity to discover other Mauritian bloggers. There is also a forum where bloggers and non-bloggers, Mauritians or International can participate.
There’s also some comments made by Jevin and Morina about blogging in general.
For a better coverage of the event, check out TheMediaGuru who has an extensive article on this.
So big thanks to all those trying to bring the Mauritian Blogging Community to light.
Mauritius Telecom and Orange??
You must have noticed by now that Mauritius Telecom, the major Mauritian ISP, is conducting a major advertising campaign, promoting its change of identity. The famous blue “t” logo has changed to an orange colour. Same for the “Mauritius” in “Mauritius Telecom”. There’s also this big billboard advert that says “Le 17 Avril, nous aceuillons un invité de marque” (“On the 17th April, we welcome a distinguished guest” in French). This heralds the partnership of Mauritius Telecom with Orange (former Wanadoo)?
I believe yes. This has been hinted for a long time now. Orange will now be a partner of Mauritius Telecom, if not administering it. Apparently, Orange will now be active in the Internet Service sector, as well as the Mobile and Telecommunications sector.
There’s not much information about this event circulating around for now, and there has been some issues raised by the trade unions about a name change from Mauritius Telecom to Orange or something similar. Not much, apart from that.
What this means for us? Do you think there will be better services offered to Mauritians? More bandwidth, resulting in better Internet speeds? Better customer support? Let’s hear your views!
Transparency On The Go: Think Chaos Crystal!
Well, we have seen how to obtain transparent windows with Xneat. But what if you wanted a smaller, and more portable solution? This is when Chaos Crystal comes to play.
Transparent Windows with XNeat!
Today, I will introduce you to a sweet little program that was a real lifesaver for me, when I was doing my computer projects. It’s still real useful today, considering the enhancements it brings to the normal, boring windows of.. well Windows operating system.
This nice little program will not make tea for you, and will not find your soulmate. But it’ll add a very important feature (at least I consider it to be important) called transparency. It’s not the titlebar transparency Vista gives you. It makes the whole window see-thru! Moreover, you will also have options such as Always on Top as long as the program runs.
No Posts!
As you see, there are no new posts for almost a week! We are very sorry, but both Neel and myself have been taken up by the Test Week held at UoM. It was on 24th and ended on the 5th, due to the heavy rains that hit Mauritius during the past week.
We didn’t have time to write anything, since the amount of revision to be done was consequent. And we are still going to be taken up by the exams coming in 3 weeks.
Heeyy! Come’on! We are students. We are busy too! GeekScribes might hit some slow-time for the coming month or so. We’ll try to post, but it won’t be frequent.
But after that one month of misery, troubles and headaches, we promise that you will have ample articles to read. 2 months of holidays coming! YAAY!
We ask for your understanding for the coming month, and hope you will keep checking around here often. Thank you, dear reader!
