		<description>I usually use pictures that need not be linked back and also use lots of copyrighted pics...but normally when i use pictures (copyrighted) not mine... i put the link of the picture itself to link back to the original website where i got it.</description>

		<description>I use my own pictures or pictures which are licensed under CC Share Alike and NonCommercial. There are many types of CC - I use the above because I get to modify (sharealike) and I don&#039;t want allow my advert script to use the alt text (which I use to depict the picture) to display targeted ads - hence the noncommercial. 

I obtain the pictures off friends on social networking sites, who license their picture under the 2 above mentioned CC licenses.

For the Olympics, I went for AP. http://www.apimages.com

You can request permission (some pictures can be altered to some extent BUT NOT for commercial use) by e-mailing apdigital@ap.org .

Comics are linked back and most of them can be used as long as they are not altered.

The picture you&#039;re referring to, is copyrighted but I was allowed to use it upon permission request. I couldn&#039;t add a watermark, nor use a js overlay - @ the request of the owner.</description>
